19.03.2020 | 15:47

There is currently increased sensitivity and concern about the COVID-19 outbreak and the potential consequences that it may have for global speciality chemicals supply chains.  There is uncertainty as to the likely extent and duration of the outbreak, both of which could influence any potential impact. William Blythe Ltd has taken a number of steps, in order to maintain supply of our products to our customers, while protecting the health and safety of our staff.

William Blythe Current Status

·     Operations at our production facility in Accrington continue to operate as normal.

·     William Blythe Limited has sufficient inventory of all our raw materials at our production facility and warehouse in Accrington for the foreseeable future.

What William Blythe and Synthomer are doing:

·     We have taken pre-emptive measures - such as defining critical and non-critical workers.  Critical workers have been split into segregated teams onsite, and we have implemented work-from-home arrangements for non-critical staff.

·     A Global Steering Team has been implemented at Group level and William Blythe have a local team including senior management to monitor the latest advice and best practice and to plan and deliver appropriate action as the situation develops.

·     We are receiving regular updates from our regional offices, and monitoring the updates and reports from the relevant Governmental bodies closely.

·     We are working to identify any area of potential risk or concern in our upstream supply chain and taking actions to manage it as appropriate.

·     We are working with our Logistics partners to minimise the impact on Logistics provision, and identify solutions where issues arise.

·     If we identify any potential risks of supply disruption, we will endeavor to inform affected customers promptly and work together to mitigate any potential impact.
